In Cerro Hoya 95 species of bird have been recorded including the threatened scarlet macaw, painted parakeet, teh king vulture, the fishing eagle, and the mangrove black hawk. There are two trips planned here in the near future. One will be to head into the heart of Cerro Hoya hiking to find nature, waterfalls and other delights. The second is a planned kayak trip around the tip of the Azuero Peninsula to explore the coastline and hidden beaches on the south side. We will keep you posted with news and photos from these excursions.
One of the recent trips took us to Playa Restinque on the southern end of the Azuero Peninsula where we encountered great beaches, dynamic cliffs coming directly out of the water and the edge of Cerro Hoya as it meets the Pacific.
